Simplicity is Hard

As I’m opening up Housefed.com to the public, the site has gone through 3 versions in the last three days. Yes, 3 dramatic iterations.

Version 1: Pretty Good, but will be really hard to get traction

Version 2: Much Better, but a mix of V1 with new ideas -> Confusing

Version 3: Simplified V2, dropping V1 ideas all together (but those will come back down the road)

I realize this is all very vague, however my point is clear. Simplicity is hard.

To make something simple, there must be a clarity of purpose and vision. If you can’t clarify what you are trying to do, you will fail.

Users won’t understand what is going on. You won’t understand what you are building.

These iterations have lead to a few setbacks in the launch, but don’t worry, I have a list of people I need to get invites to. If you would also like to get on the Alpha list, please submit your email here: housefed.com
